Peace Finance Standards Committee starts its work

The new Peace Finance Standards Committee has now been formed and it has had its first meetings. The Standards Committee will play a crucial role in the Peace Finance sector, guiding the development of the Peace Bond and Equity Standards that will promote and create conditions where capital works for more peaceful, just and fair outcomes.

The committee brings together accomplished professionals with diverse expertise in finance, investment, sustainability, development and peacebuilding. The members are:

Chair: Arne Hassel

Vice-Chair: Shahd Hammou

Members: Michal Fonea Alexandron, Steven Loyst and Peter Webster

The Standards Committee’s main role is to act as guardians of the Peace Finance Standard, conducting a thorough review of the Peace Bond and Peace Equity Standards and keeping them regularly updated and relevant. The committee is also tasked with providing guidance on the details of the certification and verification process that ensure the assurance function of the standards. It identifies potential Peace Finance Verifiers and Peace Partners, both of which occupy key roles in the Peace Finance ecosystem, as outlined in the Peace Finance Impact Framework.
