How do we invest in a way that creates a more peaceful and stable world?

Fiona Reynolds, Chair of the Finance for Peace Steering Committee, spoke at the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) conference in May 2024 in a session entitled, “Peace investment pit stop: Strategies for investors.”

Fiona explains how investment that contributes to peace and stability also reduces risk.

Some of her key points:

“In responsible investment we spend a lot of time tinkering around the edges but we’re not actually moving capital to where it needs to get to.”

“We need to think about investment in a much more holistic way. We need a revolution in our thinking into the next stage of responsible investment.”

“This is not the investment industry’s issue alone, or the private sector’s. It has to be done with governments, but the investment industry definitely has a role to play, and we need to play a bigger and better role.”
